Students log into CAPIT Reading in one of three ways:
Option 1: Single-Sign-On: Students log into CAPIT using Classlink or Clever.
Option 2: One-to-One: Student will always use their personal device (i.e., iPad or Chromebook).
Option 3: Shared Devices: Multiple students use a single device.
Learn more about Option 2 and Option 3 below.
Option 2: One-to-One
Students with personal devices (and who do not have Single-Sign-On) will log into CAPIT with their login credentials (username and password). Your students' credentials can be found in the CAPIT Dashboard. To learn more, CLICK HERE.
Students enter their username and password →
click on the blue button →
and begin learning with CAPIT!
Option 3: Shared Devices Using Student Credentials
Students with a shared device (who do not have Single-Sign-On) can log into CAPIT with their login credentials (username and password). Your students' credentials can be found in the CAPIT Dashboard. To learn more, CLICK HERE.
IMPORTANT: Students will have to log out after each session to ensure the next user will not end up using their CAPIT profile.
Students enter their username and password →
click on the blue button →
and begin learning with CAPIT →
and log out of their device!
For Option 3: Shared Devices Using Picture Passwords
Students with a shared device (who do not have Single-Sign-On) can log into CAPIT with their unique Picture Password. Using the Picture Password ensures students do not get into each others' CAPIT account.
Teacher Logs Into Each Device
Teachers will first log into each student's device using their login credentials.
Once a teacher logs in, the entire class roster appears on the device. Students then select their user icon.
If the devices will be used in multiple classes, an administrator must log in to each device using their credentials. Students then select their class and then their user icon.
The Teacher Profile is not password protected. This is important—be sure your students know not to use the Teacher Profile. They should always use their user profile.

Choosing a Picture Password
Students choose a Password the first time they log into CAPIT by picking two icons. The order of the icons is part of the Password. Students need to confirm their Password by clicking the Check. If they don’t like the Password and want to pick another, they click the X and choose another Password.
Tell your students that they need to remember their Passwords.

Resetting a Picture Password
If students forget their Password, it can be reset from the Teacher Dashboard and the student can pick a new Picture Password:
Login to the Dashboard.
Find the student and click to the pencil to left of their name.
Select "Reset Picture Password."
The student can now select a new Picture Password.
Create Password Cards
To help young students remember their Picture Password, teachers can print a worksheet to create a Password Card for each student. This sheet is available in the Teacher Corner (found in the Dashboard).
