Rostering via File Import

Step 1: Prepare your Roster File

Please create a CAPIT Roster Data File for your school and upload it to your CAPIT Dashboard. We will then create your administrator, teacher, and student accounts.

FILE TYPE
Please prepare your Roster Data File as an XLS, XLSX, CSV, or Google Sheets file.
STUDENT CREDENTIALS
Schools and districts are encouraged to assign their students’ usernames and passwords with which students are familiar.
A username can be the student’s email address or a string of letters or numbers. Students’ email addresses are used for login purposes only—we will never communicate directly with students. If you choose a username format other than an email address, we will automatically add a 4-Digit CAPIT Site Code to the beginning of each student’s username.
Passwords need to have a minimum of 3 characters.
PRIVACY
For privacy reasons, please DO NOT email your roster.

Step 2: Upload your Roster File

Log into your school’s CAPIT Admin Dashboard,
Click on the words “UPLOAD FILES found on the left-hand side of your Dashboard
Upload your file.

Please allow up to 7 business days for us to process your roster.

You can now manage your account in the CAPIT Dashboard

After we set up your school’s roster, all admins will have access to our CAPIT Dashboard, which will allow administrators to move students to different classes, add new students, and make changes to their CAPIT roster as needed. Below is a quick guide to using your CAPIT Dashboard.

New Classes

Create a Class
Add Teachers and Students to your Class
If your students are not listed, but have used CAPIT, please reach out to CAPIT.

Add Staff

Reach out to CAPIT for the following actions:
- Adding staff to multiple schools
- Adding Administrators

Large Updates

Reach out to CAPIT if you need to add a large number of Schools, Staff, Students or Classes.

Edit Staff

Click a staff's name to view and edit their information

Edit Students

Click a student's name to view and edit their information

Search

To search for students, staff, or classes, use your browser’s search function (Control-F on a PC and Command-F on a Mac) and type the student’s Name or ID number.

Rostering via ClassLink

You can find CAPIT in the ClassLink Global Library. Please connect your roster via our ClassLink Roster Server called CAPIT LEARNING. The names of our Apps are CAPIT READING and CAPIT DASHBOARD.

Students will only need the CAPIT READING app.

Teachers will need both the CAPIT READING app and the CAPIT DASHBOARD app.

Please only import the schools and classes/grades using CAPIT.
